and the winners of the Creative Graduate Prize 2008 are...

The winners of the Creative Graduate Prize 2008, founded and run by Societás and Medium Magazine in association with jotta.com and Creativepool.co.uk are revealed.

The Static Art Prize has been won by Edith Maybin of Canada, a graduate of Swansea Metropolitan University, Wales for her entry The Tenby Document' (images left).

The Moving Art Prize goes to Carla Pott of Mozambique, a graduate of Prague School of Applied Arts, Czech Republic for her entry Wolf on Screen'.

The Installation Art Prize has been won by Matthieu Gadoin of France, a graduate of ECAL, Switzerland for his entry 'Carton' (bottom left).

The 1st Runner-up is Emmet Kierans of Ireland, a graduate of Glasgow School of Art, Scotland for his entry Buttons / Bathroom Boy' and the 2nd Runner-up is Emma Perry of England, a graduate of the University of Cumbria, England for her entry 'Abandoned Sentiments'.

The online visual arts awards were launched in 2005 by web/print/live arts platform Medium Magazine and creative agency/think tank/incubator Societás to recognise the best emerging illustrators, photographers and artists worldwide. Annually attracting entries from creative graduates internationally, past winners have come from as far a field as a remote province in rural China, Washington DC and Cardiff.

The Creative Graduate Prize jury is made up of innovators from the international creative industries, all of whom are creative graduates themselves including contemporary artists Stuart Semple and Tessa Farmer, Penny Martin of the London College of Fashion, photographer Ellis Scott, Design Laboratory/Jotta.com Director Yann Mathias, sculptor Lone Sigurdsson, digital artist Eileen Botsford and awards founders Laurie Cansfield publisher of Medium Magazine and Melissa Sterry of Societás.

Societás and the jury congratulate all of this year's winners and runners-up.
